A little blu-tack did help me get the eyes on. Otherwise Re here would be a cyclops.

Can you improve an HTC Re with googly eyes?

I’m going to vote yes on this one. It’s quite simply adorable.

Once again, I’m taking a deep dive into my old products drawer to see what I find.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting to find the HTC Re.

Quick disclaimer: HTC flew me to New York for the launch of the HTC Re… back in 2014, when we could fly places. I even wrote about it for ABC News+Technology, and it’s still live on that there Internet — see?

Back in 2014, the HTC Re was an interesting idea, albeit something of a take on what the Cisco Flip did years prior. In 2021… much less interesting.

Or at least it was, until I put googly eyes on it.

I think Re's dorkishly adorable now. Just me?

I should recycle Re... but I'm kind of tempted to keep him now. It looks so innocent!

As always, this is just a little fun on my part. Remember to recycle your old electronics — don’t just throw them in the bin!
