Telstra's Thanks extends to Bon Jovi

BonJovi
Telstra’s expanded its “Thanks” offering to a 48-hour pre-sale on an upcoming tour by US rockers Bon Jovi. Is the telco Living On A Prayer or lying down on a Bed Of Roses?
Specifically the deal is for these venues and dates:

Tour Dates:
Sat 7 Dec 2013 – Etihad Stadium Melbourne
Wed 11 Dec 2013 – AAMI Stadium Adelaide
Sat 14 Dec 2013 – ANZ Stadium Sydney
Tue 17 Dec 2013 – Suncorp Stadium Brisbane

And won’t kick off until 9am on Monday 13th of May via www.telstra.com/music.

Yes, I was always going to go with terrible puns. It’s what I do.
In any case, it’s an interesting time to be Telstra in my estimation; there’s the challenge of budget carriers (including a possibly revamped Kogan and ALDI Mobile although Telstra does have its own budget arm, Boost Mobile), emerging 4G networks from Optus and (soon, so they say) Vodafone to contend with. Telstra’s historically charged more for its network — in some cases a whole lot more — so loyalty schemes like Thanks probably do pay dividends. But will Telstra customers be wanting Bon Jovi tickets (Dead or Alive, obviously) or view them as Bad Medicine?
