For years, Opera was the alternate browser — and the last holdout to actually charge for its browser. The latest iteration of Opera’s browser, dubbed Opera Next is now available for download.
Opera claims that Opera next has taken “Countless hours of hard work” and “hectoliters of coffee”, which suggests that there’s more than few twitchy Norwegians out there. Best not to mess with them.
Like the recently released Android version, Opera Next is built around Google’s Chromium engine, and differentiates itself with a speed dial for new websites, a Stash for storing website search results and a redesigned interface.
I haven’t used Opera as my daily browser for some time, but I do use Chrome quite a lot… at the moment. It’s not as though Opera Next costs anything but a little data. I may have to do some playing around.
