How does tech change remote communities?

Over at The Register, Simon Sharwood has a cracking piece about how technology is used in the most remote parts of Australia.
It’s tempting to think that tech simply stops once you’re out of the range of Internet coverage, but this isn’t so, as Simon discovered on a recent trip to the Wirliyatjarrayi Learning Centre in Willowra.
