Square Enix has some fine titles available for iOS, but they’re almost never cheap. Riding against the freemium or 99c app tide, Square Enix’s titles usually sell for $10+, with varying degrees of quality. Final Fantasy Tactics is one of the good ones, and right now, it’s half its regular price.
That’s an excellent deal for an excellent strategy/RPG hybrid, although it is a little annoying that it’s not a Universal App; the iPhone and iPad apps are seperate titles with a $1 price difference for the “HD” version. Both now feature redrawn sprites, which is one of those “nice if you like it, not so much if you remember the originals” kind of things. Still, there’s easily ten bucks worth of game here, and that’s what really counts.
