Blackberry’s first BB10 smartphone was the touchscreen only Z10, but it’s best known for its generally excellent keyboard phones. The first of those, the Blackberry Q10 will be available in Australia from the 1st of July.
Blackberry hasn’t announced its own pricing for the handsets as yet, simply noting that they’ll be available on Optus from July 1st and Telstra from July 2nd, as well as going on sale outright at JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman. Likewise, Optus is yet to release pricing, but Telstra has indicated that it’ll offer the Q10 on a $60 plan with a an $11 handset repayment over 24 months. That’s a plan with 1GB of data and $600 “worth” of calls, and an overall minimum plan cost of $1704. Telstra will also sell the Q10 for $744 outright. By way of comparison, direct importer Mobicity currently lists an imported Q10 handset at $729.95.
