Apple has made the latest point update to its mobile operating system available.
iOS 8.1 promises access to Apple Pay, but don’t get too excited just yet — no Australian finacial institutions have signed up for that just yet — along with the return of camera roll, SMS relay and, predictably, bugfixes.
To start the download process, head to Settings>General>Software Update, and as long as you’re on an iOS 8 capable device, iOS 8.1 should be ready to download. Given that it’s day one for the update, expect delays. That way you could be nicely surprised, but not disappointed.
As with most OS updates, the size of the iOS 8.1 download will depend on what you’re updating in device terms, and from which version. On an iPad Air my download clocked in under 100MB, but your experience may vary.
