I’m going to need a LOT more coffee. The ABC has announced on the back of the ratings for “Deep Breath” that it’ll simulcast the entire new series of Doctor Who at the same time as the BBC.
The ABC’s just sent out a press release detailing how well Deep Breath did, as well as announcing its future broadcast plans:

The global simulcast screening of DOCTOR WHO: DEEP BREATH yesterday achieved a five city average audience of 148,000 and a share of 34%, with a further 710,000 (12% share) watching that evening.
Across both the simulcast and the primetime broadcast, DOCTOR WHO reached* 1.175 million viewers.
In addition DOCTOR WHO: DEEP BREATH recorded a total of 62,000 plays via ABC iview.
Following the success of the Series 8 launch on Sunday ABC will continue to simulcast the entire series, in line with the UK episodes going to air.
Episode 2, INTO THE DALEK will be screened simultaneously with the UK this Sunday 31 August, and again at 7.40pm on ABC.
The entire series will also be available to watch on iview immediately after the global simulcasts and again each following Saturday night at 7.30pm on ABC2.
