Garmin Fenix 2 Review

Garmin Fenix 2: Pricing

The RRP for the Fenix 2 in Australia is $499. There’s a slight Australia tax at play here, as the US list price is $399.

Garmin Fenix 2: Fat Duck verdict

Wearables are widely tipped to be a real breakout category in the next few years, but right now, they’re distinctly a niche product.
The Fenix 2 is a strongly fitness-centric wearable, and within the wearables space, that means it’s a niche within a niche.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. (none of these things is true, but c'mon! How often am I going to get to use that quote?)

(none of these things is true, but c’mon! How often am I going to get to use that quote?)

Furthermore, it’s a fitness centric-wearable designed for multi-sport users, because pretty clearly you’re not likely to drop $499 on a multi-tracking sports watch if all you need is something to track just one activity.
Perhaps there’s a market there for aspirational types who are going to start going to the gym regularly any day now as well, but the core appeal would have to be the multi-fitness crowd. For them, it’s a solid choice, as long as they’re also iPhone users.
