30 Days of Xbox: Star Wars Battlefront II

No, not that Star Wars Battlefront II. The GOOD Star Wars Battlefront II.
Wow. 30 days goes past kind of fast when you’re having fun. Also a lot more slowly when you’re not, and my somewhat random approach to choosing games to play has hurt me just as often as it’s left me playing a stone cold gem.
Still, even at the offset, while I did employ a little random blind pointing to select some games some days, I knew full well which game I wanted to end on. Pretty much the game that I always come back to on Xbox, unless I’m playing its still-brilliant predecessor: Pandemic’s Star Wars Battlefront II.

This is probably non-canon now. I don’t care. Not one bit.
It’s a particularly timely game to be playing right now, of course, what with all the fuss around the loot box system in the updated version of the game. I’ll stick with the tried, tested and fun, thanks.
Just in case you’re coming in very late, Star Wars Battlefront is a third person (or first person, if you’re a bit of a masochist) shooter set in the Star Wars universe that takes in both the classic IV-VI films, and that rubbish with the CGI abomination in it, too. Although he never makes an appearance, and it’s just an excuse to blow up lots of robots instead.

And, naturally, to sing. Mostly this.
I can’t count the hours I’ve put into both of the classic Battlefront games, but especially Star Wars Battlefront II, and to be honest I don’t want to.
They’re games that appeal to me at both an IP level, and because I can fire them up for a quick simple battle, or play them intently for hours, taking over the galaxy, one dead Wookie at a time.
Yeah, I play as the Empire. They have cookies.
Still, this is a game that I knew I loved going into this challenge, which makes the next decision I have to make particularly tricky…

OK, clearly not that tricky. While others extol the beauty of Master Chief, I could never really get into those games. For me, Battlefront II is the game to play on Xbox, although clearly not the only game to play.
From memory, it’s also compatible with the Xbox 360, although not the Xbox One, and that pesky Star Wars IP and right situation means it’s a pretty solid bet we’ll never see it pop up on any future compatibility lists. More’s the pity.
So, that’s the challenge dusted then. What should I do next?
