And, for the most part, good riddance. Not that there weren’t highlights — just that if I had to pick a word to describe 2007, and especially the last six months, it’d be “illness”. I swear, there hasn’t been a single week since July when a family member hasn’t been unwell. Heck, I’m sick right now — I’ve been flat on my back since Saturday night with a particularly horrible throat infection that’s robbing me of all my energy — and making it feel like there’s a lump of rusty glass permanently wedged at the top of my throat. And I don’t even think glass can get rusty…
