I still can't binge watch Netflix properly

So I’m making my way — very slowly — through the new series of Orange Is The New Black on Netflix. People seem to race through everything, but I just can’t do it.

Yeah, I know, binge watching is the thing to do, but this isn’t just a timing issue for me, although that’s definitely part of the issue. I don’t entirely have the time to dedicate to 13+ hours of watching over a single weekend.

But then, I find I don’t want to anyway. There’s definitely a point where — no matter what I’m watching — I want to stop and take it all in. Something dramatic like OITNB is obviously bad for that, but even more light or comic fare falls into the same trap for me.

I just don’t enjoy it if I rush through it, no matter what. I’ve dropped most other TV watching habits to get in line with the 21st century — I virtually never watch sequentially broadcast TV these days because my interest in sports is virtually nil, so most of my viewing is streaming these days — but I can’t enjoy something if I watch more than about 2 episodes on the hop.

Can anyone explain — not why you do it — but how? I honestly find it both less engaging and somewhat exhausting to even try. Any tips?

(for anyone who already decided I was mad for even posing the question, I’ll just leave you with this. Enjoy…)
