Vodafone is finally offering a 4G Modem and Hotspot

Voda4GDevices
Vodafone launched its 4G network late last year with a flurry of hype, but the only way you could access it was from a 4G smartphone. It’s just announced two new devices; a 4G USB Modem and Hotspot.
Both are CAT4 devices with a theoretical download high of 150MBps — which is to say that they can get fast but the odds of you hitting 150Mbps repeatedly in the real world are nearly nil –and they’re both, for the moment, only open to postpaid customers, which means that they can’t (it seems) be purchased outright for prepaid use. Although you can opt for a month-to-month contract with costings of $119 for the USB modem and $169 for the 4G hotspot.
The Pocket Wifi Hotspot mirrors the Telstra Mobile Wi-Fi 4G Advanced Hotspot in that it’ll connect up to ten devices, but there’s no word on claimed battery life, even on Vodafone’s details page for the hotspot; it’d be interesting to see how well it stacks up. I’ve put a request in to Vodafone for review devices, so stay tuned.
As per Vodafone’s release, pricing will be as follows:
