As widely reported yesterday, Good Old Games has struck a deal with LucasArts to release its classic game library, starting with both Tie Fighter Special Edition and X-Wing Special Edition. Utinni!
It’s no exaggeration to say that I’m a big fan of the work done by Good Old Games, and equally a big fan of the classic X-Wing and Tie Fighter games. The intersection point between the two covers modern Windows compatibility and a DRM-free offering for (at the time of writing) $11.49 each.
There’s easily $11.49 worth of value in each game, well beyond their historical nostalgia value. So go forth and (we may as well all say it together) May The Force Be With You
Except that I always preferred Tie Fighter. Soon, the rebellion will be crushed…

I’ll take three highlights products that are not only discounted, but which I reckon are good value as well. Cheap isn’t always the same thing as great.
