The WarGames computer is for sale. No, it won't play Global Thermonuclear War.

Shall we play a game? The IMSAI 8080 used in WarGames — yes, the actual, still working computer — is up for sale.
You’ll need a fair bit of spare change for this still working bit of movie/tech-geek history, though, with current owner Todd Fischer looking for around US$25,000 for the PC and “associated props”.
Clearly, I don’t have that kind of money — and the odds are, neither do you — but Fischer’s page details the history of IMSAI and the really specific nitpicks he’s got at the movie’s IT logic. It’s the kind of thing that makes this old geek’s heart quite proud, and well worth browsing even if you’ve got no intention to buy.
Ah, what the heck. Roll the trailer!

  1. Thanks for the props, folks! Took a few days for the spark to hit, and the selling price will be at least somewhere in the six figures (U.S., of course!). Spreading the word is most appreciated!
Best to all on your side of the globe!
    Thomas “Todd” Fischer
