It sounds like a joke, but Google’s changed track on its Android releases. No longer will Android 4.4 be “Key Lime Pie” — instead it’ll be “KitKat”.
Yes, KitKat as in the chocolate confection, apparently because Google’s coders (but not its dentists) are fans of the snack. It is a direct tie-in to the chocolate of that name — and there will apparently be Android-stamped KitKats with competition prizes as well — but money didn’t change hands; this is strictly an exposure for both sides kind of deal, apparently.
I’m not kidding about that, either, as Kit Kat’s rather cheeky ad shows:
