Samsung reveals Galaxy Note 4, Edge, Gear S and Gear VR pricing and availability

Samsung has a lot of technology it’d like you to buy through October and November, with the Gear S, Note 4, Note Edge and Gear VR all appearing in stores before Christmas.
It’s all rather solidly heating up in the large smartphone space — nope, I still refuse to use that other term — with Samsung Australia announcing the release date and pricing for the Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge, Gear S and Gear VR headsets announced at its recent IFA keynote.
The Galaxy Note 4 will go on sale from October 29th for $949, with a pre-sale starting on October 15th, while the interesting-looking Galaxy Note Edge starts selling on November 5th for $1,249. Samsung representatives stated that Australia is one of the few markets it’ll launch the Galaxy Note Edge in early.

It’s expected that both the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge will be ranged across multiple carriers if you’re the contract type, although we’ll almost certainly have to wait a while to see actual contract pricing.
In the wearables space, the Gear S smartphone will go on sale in Australia in “November” (no stated date) with an RRP of $449. Optionally, there will also be Swarovski bands available for sale “before Christmas”.
Samsung has also announced Gear Circle headphones, which will go on sale at the same time for $179.
Finally, the Gear VR headset will sell in Australia in November for $249. It’s worth bearing in mind that the Gear VR headset requires the Galaxy Note 4 to do anything aside from obscuring your vision, so it’s a slightly more pricey prospect than at first glance.
I’m at Samsung’s launch for all of these devices in Sydney tonight, and will post impressions once I’ve had a little hands-on time with each of the Samsung devices.
