- Apple’s changed the naming of “free” app buttons in the App store to “Get”, presumably to comply with rules relating to IAP and all those pesky news stories about kids sending their parents broke. See, you “get” the Smurfberries, and then you “get” the Credit Card bill…
- Nintendo’s Amiibo figures — think Skylanders, but Mario, Zelda, etc — go on sale next week, and as Vooks.net notes, Big W is already slashing prices.
- Dragonriders of Pern has a screenwriter. Which is encouraging, although once again, I’ll believe in this movie when I’m sitting chewing stale cinema popcorn in front of it, and not before.
- The deep cuts to the SBS and ABC announced yesterday — you know, the ones that we absolutely not going to happen pre-election — are bad news for both broadcasters. Over at ITNews, Paris Cowan looks into whether technology might be the saving grace for the cash-strapped public broadcasters.
