How fast is Telstra's free Wi-Fi?

Telstra’s launched its trial of its nationwide “free” Wi-Fi today. So naturally I had to test it.
Over at PCMag, I’ve tested out the Hyde Park public Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as collecting the details about the service and what’s in its future. I totally expect speeds to drop once there are more people glomming onto what will be (for a while) totally free Wi-Fi, though.
