ABC Shop is now selling the Kindle

Another Aussie retailer starts stocking Amazon’s e-reader — but only one model, and at a sharp price premium.
The ABC’s retail arm, the ABC Shop has added the 6″ Wi-Fi Kindle to its stock range, according to an email sent out to those on the ABC Shop’s mailing list.
The 6″ Wi-Fi model sells for $109 through the ABC Shop; they’re also selling a small selection of Belkin Kindle cases and accessories.
No sign of the Paperwhite or other Kindle variants, however, which are available from other Australian retailers.
The ABC Shop doesn’t advertise that it’s the “Special Offers” (i.e Ad-Supported) version of the Kindle, and it’s priced identically to Big W’s current offer on the 6″ Kindle.
Still, from a comparative point of view, you can do a bit better.
I’m a big fan of the ABC Shop, but it’s hard to ignore that Dick Smith has the same model for $99, and if you’re really bargain hunting Amazon itself remains your best bet, as that Kindle should cost you around $92-$93 at current exchange rate.
