An Owl… Correction, a Tawny Frogmouth Comes To Visit

Ever felt like you were being watched? I sometimes do.. and in this case, I was right. There’s an Owl living in one of my trees. Actually, as i’ve been told, a Tawny Frogmouth, which isn’t an Owl, technically speaking.
I can credit the discovery of the Owl Tawny Frogmouth to my lovely wife, who thought she’d spotted something yesterday while hanging out clothes. Walking the younger Kidmans back from school today, we stopped to check, and, lo and behold, we’ve got an Owl Tawny Frogmouth. I think it’s a tawny frogmouth (and I was right!) , but I’m not as up on my Strigiformes as I perhaps should be.

Peering straight up at the Owl. This is slightly rude; it's not like I've been formally introduced to the Owl, or anything.

Up on the roof, I can get a better shot (within my limited photographic skills) of the Owl.

That is one cool looking avian.

Albeit, a cool looking avian killer.

Then again, as long as it's killing rats and other vermin, it's welcome to stay.

In Summary: Owls Are Cool.
In Summary: Owls Are Cool. So are Tawny Frogmouths, even if I can't tell them apart properly.
