What would happen if I dropped a Berocca into my coffee?

According to my wife, “not enough”. It’s that kind of day, but that hasn’t stopped the wheels of industry from turning — although in this case, with a rather large assist from someone who shall be known only as “MJCP” (what with that being his name), who did all the coding necessary for this blog, even though it’s technically mine to do. In any case, live today at Australian Macworld Online:

Control Freaks: “Kermit The Frog is, without a doubt, one of the wisest creatures ever to walk the face of the Earth. OK, I know, I know — he’s just a green sock with a man’s arm up it, albeit a green sock that’s capable of singing, dancing, riding bicycles and having a semi-serious relationship with a pig…”

Do you suffer from headaches?

Man: No.
[The Doctor bangs his head on the table.]
The Doctor: Do you suffer from headaches?

Ah, I love an out of context quote. Once again, I’m in print, this time in the May issue of PC User Magazine. In fact, I’m all over this issue, with a roundup of USB Flash drives, a guide to VoIP for Small Businesses as well as standalone product reviews of the Netgear ReadyNAS RND4250, HP L1908W, D-Link DHP-300, Billion BiPAC P102 HomePlug AV 200 Starter Kit and Sanyo DMPP6 Clock Radio With iPod Dock. I’ve quite literally just been handed my contributor copy by a member of PC User staff (they’re such nice people), but it should be on sale in a newsagency near you right now. You know what to do, and remember — multiple copies of PC User make great birthday presents…

I miss that brown liquid they drink here…

“Ale?”

“No, tea.”

Future generations will probably puzzle over the exact relevance of that quote to today’s published review, live at CNET.com.au:

Belkin TuneCast Auto With ClearScan: “In essence, it’s a length of cable that just happens to have a car cigarette charger at one end, iPod dock at the other and controls in the middle…”

To be frank, I’m not even sure that I remember why I chose that quote. I must be getting old, or something…

This table is required by China Government to declare the Restrict Of Hazardous

That’s verbatim from a page that just fell out of a product manual at me. A pity, then, that the table is largely in Chinese. If I drop dead tomorrow, you’ll know I should have learned Chinese more quickly…

Just in case I don’t drop dead, however, I’d better keep working. Speaking of working, and keeping on top of my published works, this review went live last week at CNET.com.au:

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20: “This is purely a camera for those who want to point, shoot and be reasonably happy with the results they get afterwards.”
